Mission Dolores Basilica, June 12
Come to the beautiful Mission Dolores in San Francisco to hear the San Francisco Boys Chorus performing Francesco Durante's illuminating Magnificat. Attributed erroneously to his pupil Giovanni Battista Pergolesi, the work has recently assumed its correct historical place. This setting of the words of the Virgin Mary from Luke's Gospel is both charming and powerful.
Enjoy, too, music from the Shona Mass from Zimbabwe, American Folk Songs as well as other lively pieces to celebrate the beginning of summer.

SFBC Intermediate and Concert choristers performed with the San Francisco Symphony at its Deck the Halls Concert series in December. In April, one of our choristers has been selected to sing the boy soprano solo in the Symphony’s performance of Benjamin Britten’s Chichester Psalms.

The San Francisco Boys Chorus will host the American Boychoir during its visit here from April 22 through April 25th.
The two renown choruses will hold a special joint concert on Saturday, April 24th at St. Peter and Paul Church on Filbert at Columbus in North Beach. The concert will start at 7:30pm.

The Cathedral of Christ the Light and the San Francisco Boys Chorus have established the Grammy-award winning
group as Chorus-in-Residence at the Cathedral in downtown Oakland.
The partnership began January 4th and allows additional boy singers from East Bay communities to rehearse and perform at the Cathedral several times a year. [Continued] |
