Since 1948, the San Francisco Boys Chorus has trained boys to enjoy music, perform in public and appear throughout the San Francisco area in productions such as the San Francisco Opera. As a part of the San Francisco Boys Chorus, you can expect to find a sense of pride in taking part of this long-standing tradition. The boys in this program receive an experience that will last a lifetime. Members automatically become part of the most lucrative chorus program in the country and provide music services to four Bay Area counties. This six-level program offers a wide range of disciplines including vocal training, music appreciation, handbells, and performance experience that is age-specific. High school-aged boys whose voices have advanced through the treble range may continue to participate in the Graduate Choral.
Who should apply?
Boys aged 5-14 are eligible to apply. Boys accepted into the Chorus will be placed in an appropriate group based on age, maturity, and overall vocal skills.
Experience Needed?
Boys in Pre-K, Kindergarten and 1st Grade, and 5 years old, do not need to audition and will be automatically accepted into the Junior Choruses for a trial period. No experience is required.
Costs?
Tuition, Camp and Tour fees vary by level. Tuition Assistance and payment plans are available at all levels. More information is available upon acceptance.

San Francisco: St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 1111 O’Farrell St, San Francisco (Civic Center Area)
East Bay: 1330 Lakeshore Ave., Oakland
Marin: St. Paul’s Church, 1123 Court Street, San Rafael
South Bay: 225 Tilton Ave., San Mateo
Rehearsal Times:
Monday and Wednesdays, or Tuesday and Thursdays. Specific dates will vary by group level.
Times are scheduled between 3p to 6:40p depending on the group.
